Information We Collect

Device Identifier: We generate a random, anonymous identifier stored locally on your device to manage rate limits and app functionality. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any personally identifiable information.

Audio & Video Recordings: When you use the recording feature, your device captures audio and video. These recordings are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to our servers or shared with any third party.

Speech Transcripts: Your device transcribes your speech locally. The resulting text transcript is sent to a third-party AI service for analysis (see "How We Analyze Your Speech" below). Only the text transcript is sent — never your audio or video.

Local Data: Your scores, progress, streaks, recordings, and preferences are stored locally on your device only. We do not upload or have access to this data.

How We Analyze Your Speech

To generate your speaking score, Outspoken sends the text transcript of your speech to a third-party AI processing service. Only the text transcript is sent — never your audio, video, or any personal information. The third-party service processes the transcript to return a score and feedback. We do not store your transcripts on any server. The third-party service does not use your data to train AI models.

To power the AI conversation practice feature, your typed messages are sent to the same third-party AI service to generate responses. These messages are processed in real time and are not stored on any server after the conversation ends.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or any other personally identifiable information. We do not create user accounts. We do not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any way.

Third-Party Services

Outspoken uses a third-party AI service to analyze speech transcripts and generate conversation responses. This service receives only text data, processes it in real time, and does not retain it. No audio, video, or personal information is shared with any third party.

Outspoken uses Apple's StoreKit framework to process subscriptions. Payment information is handled entirely by Apple and is never accessible to us.

Data Storage and Security

All app data — recordings, scores, progress, and preferences — is stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed.
